The West of Ireland is beautiful and unspoilt and full of natural resources.It is these natural resources which form the framework for our cuisine and from which we derive our name. Our focus is always fresh, natural and as local as possible.
Continuing their 12th birthday celebrations, on Wednesday September 4th, West Restaurant at The Twelve Hotel will host Juan Pablo Michelini of Zorzal winery for an evening of fine food and exciting wines from the boutique winery in Medoza.
Wine lovers can expect an Argentinian-inspired menu with the inimitable West treatment created by head chef Martin O’Donnell, while Juan Pablo will introduce each wine accompanied by sommelier and wine expert Fergus O’Halloran.
The evening will begin at 7.30pm with an introduction from Juan Pablo accompanied by Eggo Blanc de Cal Sauvignon Blanc and Malbec.
Guests will enjoy the freshest local fish accompanied by Terrior Unico Chardonnay and Connemara Blackface Mountain Lamb with Eggo Filoso Pinot Noir. These will be followed by aged sirloin steak and purple potatoes served with Eggo Bonarda – overall, a menu thoughtfully designed to match the exciting and unique wines.
West’s Wine Dinner on September 4th starts at 7.30pm and is priced at €55 per person and includes a four course menu with paired wines. Those wishing to stay the night at The Twelve can purchase an entire package from just €275 for two which includes dinner, a chic Suite and breakfasts.
