Lazy Sunday Afternoons in West Restaurant

Lazy Sunday Afternoons at West – a fresh brunch idea for the perfect chilled Sunday

Upstairs in The Twelve, West restaurant is familiar to food lovers as a chic and clubby night-time space, with great food created by chef Martin O’Donnell and a fantastic award-winning wine list curated by sommelier and general manager Fergus O’Halloran.

Now the team at The Twelve have brought their expertise to bear on designing the perfect Sunday afternoon for grown-ups, a long, lazy, lunchtime-into-evening event that focuses on fantastic food, amazing coffee, cocktails by the pitcher and the usual tweaks and extras that let you know you are in the stylishly safe hands of The Twelve.

With all the latest and most interesting newspapers and magazines to pore over, and live classical guitar - from the coolest, smoothest,  guitar maestro Tom Portman - at the heart of Lazy Sunday Afternoons at The Twelve are the very best things to eat and drink.

Chef Martin has brought together a selection of delicious classics and signature dishes with a twist, from house-style kedgeree with smoked fish and boiled eggs to power salads, from local fish to half a roast chicken with lemon and herbs, pancetta cream and sautéed potatoes, from 12-hour slow braised beef cheek for two to share with root vegetables and creamed potato to white bean cassoulet with smoked black pudding and poached eggs, from McGeough’s ribeye with beef dripping chips to the gourmet pizza of the day. This is comfort food at its finest, just what you want to be treated to after a long week’s work or a long weekend socialising!

Fergus has created a drinks menu that includes artisan cordials and presses, cold brew coffees and Solaris teas, fresh juices, prosecco cocktails, Bellini pitchers and local beers, and his excellent wine list is also available to find the perfect match for any brunch option.

For the sweet of tooth there are homemade seasonal sorbets and the most deliciously irresistible freshly made doughnuts with dipping sauces – it’s worth going out for brunch for these alone!
