The pop-up at the big top! The Twelve provides delicious festival food to the Galway Arts Festival’s Big Top

Founded in1978, Galway Arts Festival is Ireland's largest international arts festival, and runs this year from July 15th – 28th. The Twelve Hotel in Bearna hasn’t been around quite so long, but has made a massive impact in its first 6years, particularly for lovers of fine, local and seasonal food, with West at The Twelve regularly winning awards for its great take on the best of the region.West at The Twelve never stands still – literally – last year they popped u all over Ireland and held a hugely successful pop-up restaurant at the Galway Arts Festival, and now they are popping up again, with great festival food at Galway Arts Festival’s Big Top – it’s a big top pop-up!Between July 19thuntil 27th July, there are great gigs on in the Galway Big Top, and they are harmonised perfectly with the rocking food from The Twelve. Galway’s biggest restaurant ever will be the Big Top with performances from terrific acts like Grizzly Bear, Josh Ritter, Glen Hansard, Imelda May and The RTE Proms. Food from The Twelve Pop-Up at the Big Top lives up to those high standards, with options including The Indie Bay Seafood Chowder for just €6, or ‘The Hansard Hot Dog’,a gourmet hot dog featuring James McGeough’s turf smoked Connemara sausage ‘falling slowly’ onto a bun ‘Framed’ with The Twelve’s onion marmalade, also only €6.Named in honour of the beautiful Ms. May is Imelda’s 5oz.s of Mayham, a flame grilled burger with caramelized onions and at just €6, it will tickle your taste buds in the way that Imelda’s voice might tickle your fancy! A delicious ‘From The Proms’ smoked seafood salad with local leaves, a Josh Nosh coconut and lemongrass vegetable curry and  a marinated with ‘Almighty Love’ chicken breast complete the menu. For dessert, a gorgeous light summer treat – The Twelve’s Bear white chocolate panna cotta with poitin raspberry jelly, just €4.“We love a spot of adventure at The Twelve,” says Fergus O’ Halloran, of the hotel, “and we get a huge kick out of bringing our great local, seasonal food out of the restaurant and to new venues and audiences.
