Upstairs in The Twelve, West restaurant is familiar to food lovers as a chic and clubby night-time space, with great food created by chef Martin O’Donnell and a fantastic award-winning wine list curated by sommelier and general manager Fergus O’Halloran.

Following a successful career at some of Canada's top hotels and restaurants, Fergus O'Halloran moved back to his native Galway in 2004. He was heavily involved in all aspects of the design, planning and philosophy of luxury boutique Galway hotel The Twelve, in Barna, of which he is now Managing Director.

The Twelve continue their winning streak as Upstairs @ West wins Ireland’s only Wine Spectator Award!

The only restaurant in Ireland to win a Wine Spectator Award for 2014, and for the seventh year in a row, Upstairs @ West has been honoured by Wine Spectator Magazine with yet another award for their comprehensive wine list. The Twelve in Bearna is making a winning habit of blazing trails, picking up praise and amassing awards!  

It’s Win Win Win again for The Twelve in Galway as we scoop three more accolades at the RAI Awards!  

No stranger to winning at this stage, The Twelve Hotel in Barna have won three more accolades recently including; Sustainable Restaurant of the Year, Best Gastro Pub (Regional) for The Pins and Best Wine Experience in Connacht.

Hot Press magazine has announced the Best of Ireland 2014: a beautifully compiled annual publication that shines a light on the good and the great that Ireland has to offer.   Listed among the Hot Press Best of Ireland 2014 is Upstairs @ West, The Twelve Hotel, Barna. West is a modern take on a classic - a contemporary riff on a New York-style club restaurant.

Wine West Wednesdays at The Twelve  A wine appreciation society with a difference

With their usual panache and flair, The Twelve, the boutique beauty in Bearna, introduces a whole new kind of wine appreciation society – WWW @ The Twelve. Unpretentious, easy to access and a novel way to learn about new wines, Wine West Wednesdays at The Twelve are relaxed and informal wine-focused get-togethers taking place every Wednesday from 6.30pm to 9pm in the acclaimed Upstairs at West.  

Galway makes the final ten for first Restaurant Association of Ireland Foodie Town Award – now the city needs your vote!

 Galway city has made the final ten in the Restaurants Association of Ireland’s search for Ireland’s first Foodie Town. Towns and communities from all over the country have been invited to battle it out to be named Ireland’s top Foodie Town

Voya spa treatments in Le Petit Spa have proved really popular with guests of The Twelve Hotel, so popular in fact that The Twelve have decided to extend the service, refurbish Le Petit Spa and officially launch Le Petit Spa to the public, so the ladies and gentlemen of Galway and nearby areas can now avail of this pampering haven also.

With a wall choc-full of wonderful awards, reviews and accolades, Fergus O’Halloran is going to have some difficulty finding a place to showcase the most recent two awards won by The Twelve Hotel at the National Hospitality Awards 2013, which took place on Monday 21st October.
